چکیده

BackgroundAnkle sprains are one of the most common injuries amongst general population and affect all spectrums activity levels. While anterior talofibular calcaneal fibular ligaments prevalently injured during there instances when chronic lateral ankle instability leads to rotational attenuate deltoid ligament. The few literature that exists concerning medial ligament reconstruction focus on an arthroscopic approach.AimThe goal this current work is describe a novel open surgical collateral through coupled repair.Surgical TechniqueA singular semitendinosus allograft utilized reconstruct deltoid, calcaneofibular ligaments. Canals reamed for anchoring malleolus, talar body, distal fibula, midline calcaneus. fibula calcaneus fully allow pull technique allograft. malleolus neck anchored first, followed by lastly All performed with in neutral position.ConclusionThis successfully describes repair. This affords surgeon greater control over final product allows repair position. also more anatomic less incidence stiffening at joint. authors’ have noted good results return full patients undergone procedure.

Ankle lateral ligament reconstruction for chronic instability.

PURPOSE To report the outcome of a technique combining direct anatomic reconstruction of the anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) with augmented reconstruction using the peroneus brevis tendon fixed by a bio-absorbable interference screw. METHODS 13 men and 2 women aged 17 to 36 (mean, 24) years with recurrent inversion injuries of the right (n=5) and left (n=10) ankles underwent lateral ankl...

Predictors of peroneal pathology in Broström-Gould ankle ligament reconstruction for lateral ankle instability.

BACKGROUND Chronic ankle instability has a well-known association with intra- and extraarticular ankle pathologies, including peroneal tendonitis and subluxation. Patients with peroneal pathology are at risk for failure of conservative treatment for their ankle instability, thus identifying these patients is important and helps to guide management. There has been no literature looking at, in pa...

Modified incision for Brostrom lateral ligament reconstruction of the ankle.

PURPOSE To describe a modified incision for the Brostrom procedure to correct lateral ankle instability. METHODS 14 men and 12 women aged 23 to 38 (mean, 27) years with lateral ankle instability underwent the Brostrom procedure with a modified incision to repair both the anterior talofibular and calcaneofibular ligaments, without endangering the sural or superficial peroneal nerves. The incis...

Reconstruction for lateral ligament injuries of the ankle.

Seventy-six patients (83 ankles) with chronic lateral instability of the ankle were treated by a simple reconstructive operation, namely, a subperiosteal release on the distal part of the lateral malleolus. The released flap, including the insertion of both the anterior talofibular and the calcaneofibular ligaments, was reattached to the malleolus more proximally. Seventy-five patients (82 ankl...

Instability of the ankle after injury to the lateral ligament.

Ligamentous instability of the ankle joint can be confirmed by radiographs taken in two planes. The place of the anteroposterior varus stress view is established, but the lateral view which shows anterior subluxation of the talus is frequently omitted. The anatomical significance of the two stress views has been determined by dividing different components of the lateral ligament of 20 cadaveric...
